Good article, I have a couple of in the weeds data updates that are easy to miss.

King of Kings' budget was reported in Korean outlets as 36 billion won (~$19M)

Homestead was reported as having an $8M budget, but that's the goal they were hoping to spend on the entire season of a tv show. They spent $6.5M on the film + 2 follow-up tv show episodes. The movie itself is then somewhere between 3.5 (spending through 2023) and 6.5M

Thanks. Good question. It might be because the companies in question are targeting a bigger/broader group than Christians - maybe they would see that label as too limiting. The CEO of The Wonder Project said: "Our mission is to entertain the world with courageous stories, that inspire hope and restore faith and things worth believing in. If you have an entertaining story that gets people to open their hearts, and maybe they think differently. Some of our programming is going to be from the Bible because that is one of the richest places for storytelling. Our first show we’re doing with Amazon is House of David. We’re super excited because it is a 3,000-year-old epic hero’s journey. If you’re a believer, you’re going to love it. If you’re not, you’re still going to love it because the elements there are so compelling and engaging."
